The Pond People® Franchise Opportunity
The Pond People® is proud to announce we are in the franchising business! What so many of our clients have happily experienced in our part of the country is now ready to be shared with the rest of the world. We believe what we do is unique in every aspect of our industry - how we operate, our attention to detail, our products, our services, our management - we have a business philosophy special to the industry. We will share all the details with you when you decide to join our family.
What we do
We are in the pond business (surprise!). We utilize proactive management practices and natural products in the treatment of ponds. Specifically, we focus on a pond’s ecosystem and the management of this ecosystem, making us not just another pond company.
Ponds become nightmares because the ecosystems are out of balance and need to be corrected. This isn’t earth-shattering news. Most pond companies will tell you this. However, few practice what they preach, let alone understand what this really means. We do and can prove it! Our approach is specifically designed to bring a pond’s ecosystem back into balance and maintain this balance. Our system will even mitigate, and in most cases reverse, prior pond sins.
Choosing a franchise
Choosing to be in business is a monumental step for most. It is so frightening for some that they become frozen in the process. We all, at one point, envision ourselves as being our own boss. We envision making the decisions of day-to-day operations and reaping the benefits of our hard work. We want to experience the sensation of reporting only to ourselves. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Yes, except for one thing – fear.
Fear stops us from even attempting to realize our goals. Fear is very powerful and can overwhelm you. Before you know it, all you can think about is:
- I don’t know anything about business
- I don’t know anything about employee management
- I don't have enough money to get started.
- How will I know if I have a chance to make it?
- Who can I turn to for guidance?
These are all legitimate concerns, especially if you are starting a new business from scratch. Buying a franchise eases some of the concerns. The beauty of buying a franchise is the franchise system is proven to work…again, nothing earth-shattering here. So now what? Does this mean you will make it? We cannot answer that for you. What we can tell you, which makes our opportunity unique, is what we offer you as a franchisee.
What other franchises offer
Think about what happens in most franchising opportunities. What are the typical requirements? The typical requirements to own a franchise are money and/or business experience. Regarding money, you pay the franchise fee. The franchisor sets you up with the proper equipment. They give you training and wish you good luck as you walk out the door. Maybe they provide you some initial support to get your feet wet. After that, you are often on your own. You have to ask yourself, “What were they after?”
Some franchisors want you to have business experience. Business experience is important because those with a business background will understand most of the behind-the-scenes business operations. Since the typical burden is on the franchisee (you) to learn business practices (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, etc.), business experience is a signficant key. None of this stuff makes you any money, but is vital to all business success. Lack of mastering sound business practicies is where most business owners fail - which is why so many franchises require business experience. The franchisor knows that 80% of small businesses fail in the first five years due to poor management.
Are you freaking out yet? We hope not, because we have good news…
What we offer
We understand there are great people who make wonderful employees. What makes them wonderful employees is their dedication to doing a great job. This doesn’t mean a great employee will make a great business owner. There are too many business administration functions to even begin to make the comparison between employee and business owner – there is a fundamental disconnect between the two. Understanding the consequences of this fact, we wanted to close the gap.
Our focus shifted toward creating a system that would benefit great workers, not necessarily great business people. We considered the difference between an employee and business owner and wondered what would happen if we took away the business administration responsibilities from the franchisee? What if we set up a system so the franchisee could just work like he did when he was an employee, but reap the benefits of being a business owner? Does his chance of succeeding increase? We believe it does dramatically.
We decided to create a system with excellent training, field support, and a back office support process. This allows you to focus on what makes you money. Accordingly, these are the things we will do for you:
- Provide complete training
- Provide complete field support
- Provide complete back office support
- Client newsletters
- Accounts receivable and collections
- Accounts payable
- Client database management
- Financial statements
Our goal is to keep you out in the field making money and not behind a desk shuffling paperwork. You will operate with minimal workforce (you and one part-time employee). You can work from home. You will have little overhead. You will be given the opportunity to be a business owner without the headaches that come with business operations.
Being in the pond business is wonderful. People love their ponds and value the relationship they have with The Pond People®. Because of these facts, we take what we say and do seriously, including our franchisee selection process. As you begin the screening process, you will quickly realize we are not simply after a fee. Our selection process is unique and challenging. We know if you make it through the process, your chances of success increase even more.
We want those hardworking employees who have a dream. We want those people who are ready to be business owners. We have something very special to share with you. Are you ready?
